Bert Sheffield
November 3, 2022

Canadian Paralympian based in Lincolnshire, UK. Bert has worn the Maple Leaf of the Equestrian Canada Team for 8 years, at 3 Major Games – World Equestrian Games 2014 in Caen, Rio Paralympic Games 2016 and the World Equestrian Games at Tryon 2018.

Bert Sheffield uses the McHardy Snaffle on her top ride, Fairuza. Bert and Fairuza have represented Canada at 4 major games, the most recent being the Tokyo Paralympics, where they did a great job, finishing 5th in the individual championship, and 6th in the Individual Freestyle final.

Bert has mentioned many times that Fairuza, lovingly known as “Wonky”, is her heart horse. Earlier this summer, the 13-year-old mare came down with a sudden illness; although she subsequently made a good recovery. We love keeping track of our sponsored riders and their trusty steeds – stay tuned for more updated on Bert and her beloved Wonky.
