Which Happy Tongue Bit?

Hi there, we have established my horse would suit a Happy Tongue bit - she pulls her head up, yanks her head down and tries to put her tongue to one side. We just wonder which one - she is a show jumper and generally quite sensitive, but very forward moving. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Hi Ella,

For a sensitive horse, a plain Loose Ring is a good choice. The Loose Ring offers a fast release from pressure plus it does not add any extra pressures to the mouth piece.

If you definitely need a little extra poll pressure and leverage on the mouth piece, I suggest going to a 2½ Ring. With this cheek piece, we suggest keeping your rein on the middle ring as much as possible, and only dropping it to the bottom ring when you know that she is going to get overly excited and you need a little more pressure. This way we are always rewarding by going softer.
