Bit size

I have a 16hh Ottb who I jump in a 5.5 full cheek french link snaffle, I’m looking at putting him in the happy tounge bit unsure as to what size I need!

Hi Megan,

The Happy Tongue needs to be 10mm smaller than the French Link to sit the same. This is because a broken bit will relax down in the mouth, whereas the Happy Tongue retains it's shape in the mouth. 5.5" is a 140mm by our calculations, you should go down to a 130mm.
