Strong horse

I am having difficulty controlling my horse out hunting. I have tried various gag bits, none of which she likes. She tends to poke her nose out, shake her head and try and get her tongue out the side of her mouth or over the bit. She has started going nicely in a mullen mouth pelham in the school and is more accepting of this but not sure if it will stop her in the hunting field. Any suggestions?

Hi Susan

Your horse is showing all the symptoms of having a sensitive tongue. We would recommend taking the Happy Tongue mouth piece with either the Pelham or Williams cheek piece both of which will give some poll pressure when necessary.
