Hi Hassan,

The Snaffle mouth piece creates a nut cracker effect on the bars, which most horse don't particularly like. It will also create some pressure on the tongue.

What mouth piece was on the Pelham you tried her in? Going behind the bit is a sign that she found that bit to be too strong for her, sticking her tongue out shows that she is not happy with the pressure being placed on her tongue.

I cannot be 100% sure without knowing what mouth piece was on the Pelham, but I suspect that she is probably tongue sensitive. If that is indeed the case then I suggest trying a Polo 3 Ring Happy Tongue.

Hi Hassan,

Please do try the McHardy, it may be a little too strong for her, but it is a good place to start as the McHardy does give tongue relief.
