Head down pulling pony

Hi Please help.
My daughters new pony over bends, puts his head far down when asked to trot and when walking pulls on the rein for a loose contact.
he is a little strong for her as well as she is only 6yrs
The pony is 11 years and around 14.1h
What bit do you recommend? my dentist said to use the williams happy tongue.
Thank you for your time.
Regards
Candice

Hi Candice,

The Happy Tongue mouth piece is a good recommendation for your daughters pony as he is showing signs of not being happy with tongue pressure.

I don't think that the Williams is the right cheek piece though. The Williams introduces the leverage on the mouth piece very quickly and young children aren't always aware of what their hands are doing, I think a 2½ Ring would be better as it will not come into effect quite as quickly as the Williams.
